And on we go to another stressful day... Sigh... :(
Tis foggy here again so i can't see out of the windows at all and it's finally getting cold as November tends to be. Not too bad yet though. Anyway, i have a lovely warm coat now. :) so nothing there to worry about. Now all i need is a helmet or something to warm my face. Brrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
I feel i'm not going to write about work yesterday. Not that it was a disaster, it was just an argh atmosphere and i don't want to bring it up again right this morning - it'll be here soon enough anyway.

My cinécard finally got de-blocked so i can use it again. Stupid system. Still don't know what went wrong. Oh well. Result was i could buy the tickets online and all was fine again. :)
Dashed to the city centre and right to the German bookshop and explored a bit. They had some nice and cute special things up for xmas already. Decorative stuff and special books and so on and also a lot of calendars (mind you NO diaries... GAH!!! Where am i going to find a good one when there's no choice?) - i got a small *little polar bear* (dunno if you know this one?) one for mum and then also got an advent card of *Felix* (anyone? It's a german children's story me thinks) for Kaytee - posted it this morning. :) ah, also got a tiny Felix figurine for mum. That'll go into her St.Nicolaus day stocking. As far as i remember St.Nicolaus day isn't celebrated everywhere? 6th of December? Here mainly kids would get sweets and fruits and nuts that day and you meet St.Nicolaus's in the city and so on and they give sweets and so on to everyone. As far as i remember this tradition origins from some rich man called Nicolaus who decided to give (some of?) his riches to the poor people... Something like that. I don't remember the exact story and am not sure if it's 100%ly known, either.
Anyway, WE do give eachother some small pressie or a stocking filled with whatever... We decided against all the sweets and candy stuff as there's so much around xmas anyway with all the pastries, etc. :) good plan? ;)
Then went into the esoteric section (that's what it's called here) of the shop and explored their stuff a bit - and found a lovely book about Jul. By Dorothy Morrison. It doesn't seem to be high on the wiccan side, but it offers lots of ideas and things to do. so... More like a *plan* than something *about* the holiday, if you know what i mean. Gah, hard to explain. :p

Later met up with mum, had some coffee, realized there's absolutely nowhere to eat something in the city centre (i mean a non-expensive restaurant that doesn't consist of McDonald's... And McDonald's... And... McDonald's...), so gave up on getting something for dinner. Starve in this city - why don't you?
I'd discussed this theme with colleagues here before - all think the same. There's just NOWHERE to go. Except McDonald's which is ok, but... Every day or what? Ok, i won't get started about this again. Fact is Manor's stuff has become yuck, Jelmoli is incredibly expensive (you'd rather go to a *real* nice restaurant for those prices!), Coop - well, if you want fries and some fried meat... Alex and Nicole and me decided yesterday that we want a Prêt-à-Manger here. :p
Well, finally went to the cinema - and watched The Corpse Bride. :D
It was really good, so well done and so funny! Very unusual, too! :) recommend it. An underground party you could say. ;)

So... Today it'll be Elizabethtown... Off to buy the tickets now.
