hope that everyone's had a nice New Year's celebration???
ours was nice, though as usual rather simple and just at home. i'd prepared some yummy snacks as i had the day off on 31st already and later my aunt and her family came to visit us.
must say that both mum and me have had enough of their visits for about a whole year.
not that they'd be evil or something, but... one's nerves can bare only so much...
they have no TV at home, thinking a TV would be evil or something... but they SO like to watch TV at our home... so basically when they visit it's all about watching TV and you can't get rid of them anymore. it's completely MAD!!! and it drives us up the wall. i *DO* like watching films with someone, but... it's still OUR home, thus we might like to be alone every now and then there, too AND we might like to watch something WE want to see and so on... and i just don't get the fact that they have all, their TV, video recorder and dvd put away somewhere but visit US to watch something. hello???
so it was all about watching TV on 31st then, too... while maybe chatting a bit and having some fun would have been kind of better... and my uncle might be an o.k. person but he feels he has to critisize everyone and everything every single second, so when we watched a czech comedy dvd which is really good and well done he felt that urgency to tell us how all the people on there are complete idiots and stupid, etc. and he ALWAYS does that, with simply everyone and everything. you could show him a sheet of white paper and he'd explain to you how stupid it is. beside that HE is of course such a brilliant person, such a genius (i wonder why he hasn't had a job for years then? ah, sorry, he's too clever to work with or for anyone, stupid me didn't see it.).
ANYWAY...
when we finally got rid of them, about 5 minutes past midnight, mum and me went out to the forest to watch the fireworks from there. it's a place rather high up, above the city, so it was absolutely brilliant. and luckily it wasn't that cold. the view was amazing and the fireworks really beautiful and unusual.

my grandpa got home on 31st from the hospital! so happy about that and so relieved! he was supposed to stay there over New Year, but was healing so well, they let him go home. he was very happy about that. he was in a lot of pain after the operation, but all seems to be fine.
the bad thing is that he might have to have a complete operation on the same knee again soon anyway. wonder why they never mentioned that in the first place. ah, let me think, money. right. i'm quite upset about this... :(

on 1st and 2nd i got into creating again and made a picture connected to Phantom of the Opera which i'm really happy about :) and i started making a new dragon figurine - a bigger one, so i needed to make the body out of wires first and am now forming it (fimo). head's done and a basic of the throat and body without legs so far. my, it was a lot of work to place all the teeth into its mouth. *LOL* by the time i was placing the second in i wished this was a VERY old dragon thus not having any teeth...

am back on diet now, too, started doing more training by yesterday. hope it'll work as well as last year, fingers crossed!!!

tried to book flights to ireland for july - Judi's getting married and we're invited YAY!!! - i need to book the flights NOW as else they'll get too expensive (we have to fly over London Stansted and then to Cork). couldn't book as my card wasn't accepted. guess they haven't received the last payment, yet which is really annoying. i *know* it's all about holidays and everything being slower, but i need to get the flights booked! :(
i'll have to book my flight to London in february soon, too else there won't be any left with that other airline, but logically can't book. i've vouchers for the flights, but not for the taxes.
the stuff about payments is so annoying anyway. in an age where everything's working rather fast, being online with computers and all that, payments are still awfully slow and both banks and post offices aren't giving a good service by not advising one well and having impossible opening hours.
ACK!!!

i don't usually write any year resumée of the last year (i've seen some people do that, that's why i know about it at all) so i guess i'll leave it now, too... it might be too boring to read for anyone anyway and i myself know what i've done or not. :)
